I don’t normally use this site to talk about myself so I hope you’ll bear with me because there are some ideas here that will increase your sales and your effectiveness if you lead salespeople.

I spent the better part of today posting on my other sites 180SalesCoaching and Breakout Selling. I shared information on topics like

  • How to earn the right to people’s time and get your calls answered and appointments kept
  • The major reasons for losing a sale and why they aren’t the excuses most people give
  • Power Tips – short quick reads on the techniques and methods quoting busting salespeople use every day to WIN
  • Simplicity – the power that fuels sale’s wins

I wrote on those topics to put more money in Salespeople’s and Sales Manager’s pockets.

But you won’t read about those things here

This site is for primarily for me and other Sales Though Leaders to communicate. That is why you don’t see any advertising here. There are no opt-in forms. I don’t pitch any of my books, courses, or services here.

This site is just for some straight talk between ‘shoe leather salespeople’ on the important topics and trends of sales and sales management.

Enough already, get to the point

Sales can’t be taught but it can be learned. That is one of my bedrock beliefs that you’ve probably heard me say over and over again.

The same is true for sales management. It can be learned. It must be learned. The challenge is that it simply can’t be taught. It must be lived, coached, experienced. It is about growth. It is about sharpening the saw by actually doing.

Which does get to the point

On the left side of these posts are links to some other sites, such as Breakout Selling and 180SalesCoaching.

Breakout Selling is a site dedicated for Salespeople – their development, their prosperity. If you’re a salesperson and you want to improve your selling skills Breakout Selling is a good site to visit. If you need more leads, if you need to fill your funnel or if you simply want to enjoy selling more, head over there using the link at the top left of this website.

180SalesCoaching is a site for Sales Managers and Owners who want to improve the performance of their teams. Most sales teams today aren’t nearly as effective as they could be. CSO Insights, one of the leading sales research companies in the US, says that the majority of sales people aren’t making quota. Worse, the number of people making quota has consistently gone down over the years.

That means Sales Managers and businesses are missing their numbers.

Often missing big

180 is about turning that around. It is about giving you the coaching and skills needed to:

  • Make Sales Teams profitable and selling more
  • Answer if your team is effective
  • Optimize sales coverage, territory management, and commission plans

So if you’re a salesperson head over to Breakout Selling. There is an entire blog dedicated to your success, along with tons of free articles and resources to put wins in your score column.

If you’re a Sales Manager, reading this site is a good place to be. However the real actionable items, along with coaching and training materials will be found at 180SalesCoaching.

Too Busy?

I know, there are tons of important stuff do to and read. I’m certainly not trying to put more on your plate.

But here is an unhappy fact: 90% of salespeople have never read a book on selling? Less than 18% of sales people dedicate more than an hour a week to sharpening their skills. Gallop reports that over 55% of sales people shouldn’t even be in sales and that of the remainder a full 25% of them are in the wrong jobs.

So I’m not speaking to the vast majority of sales people out there. Just

The ones who want to make money and plan

The Sales Professions that want help, need assistance and would use it if only they could find time efficient coaching and resources.
